Opportunity Knocks for Local Makeup Artist at 2005 BET Awards
LOS ANGELES, CA -- June 28, 2005 -- When opportunity knocks, open the door! Baltimore, MD-based makeup artist Janice Tunnell recently opened that proverbial door by providing samples in the dressing rooms of some of the BET Awards’ participants from her cosmetics line, Illusions Cosmetics.
Since its 2001 premiere, the BET Awards are known to feature prominent African-Americans within the entertainment industry, including musicians, actors and athletes. The BET Awards were hosted by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and R&B legend Gladys Knight were some of the many entertainers that were in attendance. The awards show, which is held at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, is the No. 1 awards show on cable among African-Americans.
Ms. Tunnell is no newcomer to the field of makeup artistry, especially when it involves providing services to celebrities. During her 8 years of experience, Ms. Tunnell has provided her makeup artistry services to well-known members of varied industries ranging from the field of entertainment to the healthcare spectrum. Her lengthy list of clients includes vocal performers, such as Destiny’s Child, to politicians, such as Kwesi Mfume.
